1st week of ia

1st week of Industrial Attachment...

yes... its only the 1st week and i've done alot alot alot of stuff... i've got 5 projects at hand.. yes!!! 5!!! for a intern... i've got lotsa stuff to fill my log book with.. but i just don't have the time to do it cause i just don't have the time...

my major project... is to create a Elementary Process Time Application software... yes... create a software... and i'm not even a ce student.. and i got a c for computing... and i gave up on pointers, array and string last time... so how is it possible that i can come up with a software... that are crazy... and the worst thing is their own enginners dun even know computing... hahah and they expect us to know...best... tried to ask them like what programming software i can learn and look in to to help me create the software and their ans will be : we keeo the options open... its up to you what you want to use... well actually the bottom line is ... they dun even know what software can do what they want.. coz they dun even know programming... hah....

this is only the 1st part... 2nd part will be modelled and line operations, capacity , wip, peak season rampup, scrap and 3rd part will be perform analysis on operation, cost saving concepts and establishment and 4th part will be on benchmark simulation and actual process time and identify GAPS ans present to industrial teams... yes... whats the whole 2nd part talking about... seriously at this point of time now... i have no idea too.. all i know is i need to do a software that can help them to do all the above analysis... so now i am studying visual basic... haha i think at the end of it i will be vb expert liow...

that is my individual main project... still i have to update the Way of Working book and establish its effectiveness... this i still not too sure of the job scpope as my mentor had been pretty busy to beief me...

still more to come... i need to complie a book on manufacturing processes on the tv pcb... and i focus on the manual insertion part while the other 2 interns focus on the reflow and auto insertion... basically its to work together to compile this book and we need to go to the production line to ask the people there all our queries... other den manual insertion i still need to study on lead-free soldering...

and i have a eca to be in charge of and that is to decorate the notice board.. haha this is the only easy job for me...

and with all the work we are loaded with... suddenly he just called us in and ask us to come up with a programme to help them to do component count... yes programming again... this is a small project... so he give us until the 3rd of march to complete... complete meaning the programme can run well and we need to present it during their meeting to all the engineers there to teach them how to use the programme hahah now we got 1 third of it done... luckly i still remember the concepts of all the loops that zuk taught me during yr 1 in computing... 1st time i write programme myself and it can actually compile and run hahah...

so basically thats my projects at hand now... on top of all that... in order to understand why we are given such projects to do... we are given other task to understand the manufacturing and the components of the more...

jus like day 1 went to the production line to see how tv is made from chip to packing and off to sell... learn how each and every machine functions... den day 2 learn the components of a crt and we dismental a lcd... hhaha and we don't knwo how to assemble it back hahah worse...

next week i got to dismental and assemble a tv... and do process time experment ...study lead free engineering... and decorate the notic board.. and to go to the production line again to study on manual insertion... do 2nd part of the component count programming... which might need to use array i think... learn visual basic on my own... and summarise the weeks work and plan for week 3 so during meeting with the boss on fri afternoon i know what to say and to be able to show him that i know what i'm doing and i plan what to do...

so... is my ia siong?

siong nvm... cause i know if i deliver to him what he want he will give me what i want and that is a A for ia hahah

to take it postively with a open mind... i will know how exactly how an engineer work... zai kia in visual basic and programming... learn how to use the excelmarco and dreamweaver... learn alot thats for sure.. hahah...

to take it negatively... i am just being exploited lah.. doing things they dont know and no time to learn hahah
