king and queen happiness
this is my favourtie piece of scuplture... by henry moore... i fell in love with it the 1st time i saw it in one of his books the national library during jc 2 when i was doing research for my art project... the one sculpture is now in Hirshhorn Museum one in belgium(outdoor) and another one in scotland(outdoor)... i must go to these places one of these days to see this piece of work...The simplicity of his sculpture... the thin stringy arms and legs... and the frail and thin figures formed a shape similar to a bench. The stillness of the sculpture creates a sense of peace and tranquility and the sense of peace and tranquility... to me this is happiness...
"One of the things I would like to think my sculpture has is a force, is a strength, is a life, a vitality from inside it, so that you have a sense that the form is pressing from inside trying to burst or trying to give off the strength from inside itself, rather than having something which is just shaped from outside and stopped. It's as though you have something trying to make itself come to a shape from inside itself." - moore
